Fifteen minutes in your own driveway. One USB stick. No tools, no garage, no appointment.
Read this page once before you start. It is short, and doing it in order matters.
Do not put the stick in the car until step 3. If you plug it in early, the car will not pick the file up and you will be starting over.
Mac: Disk Utility → select the stick → Erase → Format MS-DOS (FAT), Scheme Master Boot Record.
Windows: right-click the drive → Format → File system FAT32 → Quick Format.
If your stick is bigger than 32 GB and Windows will not offer FAT32, use a smaller stick. That is the quickest way past it.
Download setup.zip, unzip it, and copy everything inside it to the root of the stick — not into a folder. Do not rename anything, and do not put anything else on the stick.
When you are done the stick should have a Data folder and a Meta folder sitting at the top level. If instead you see a single setup folder, you have copied the zip in one level too deep — go one level in and copy those two folders up.
Engine does not need to be running, but the car does need to stay awake. A small helper copies itself across on its own — no menus to dig through. Give it three to five minutes and leave it alone.
Once the helper is in, the car checks in and pulls down your activation by itself. Your VIN is already on the list from your order, so there is nothing to type in and no code to key.
Keep the ignition on and the car online. It will restart once when it is finished — that restart is the sign it worked.
Plug your phone in (or connect wirelessly, if that is what you bought) and check the screen. Then take the stick out and put it somewhere safe — you may want it again after a dealer visit.
Full-Screen finishes in two halves. You run the steps above, and that puts the helper on the car. The car then reports which firmware it is actually running, and we send down the build that matches it — there is no single file that fits every car, which is why we do it this way round.
So after step 4 your screen may look unchanged. That is normal. Leave the car online and it will land, usually the same day. You do not need to be with the car for that part.
If a dealer software update ever wipes the activation, the same stick puts it back. You do not pay again for the same car.

This is the self-install lane, and we are honest about what that means.
One car per purchase. The activation is tied to the VIN you gave us. A second car needs a second order — the same purchase will not move across.
It is reversible. Nothing is permanently rewritten and no firmware is replaced. If you ever want the car back to standard, it goes back.
